Even though we’ve been home more than ever this past year, the shows we choose to stream are a serious time commitment. \u00a0With so many viewing options before us these days, it can be overwhelming to navigate all that’s out there, so I’ve reached out to some respected individuals to find out what they’re streaming.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Stay, Script Consultant, Creative Executive, Producer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This week, I spoke with Script Consultant, Creative Executive and Producer, Rebecca Stay, who shared with me what she’s been watching lately and why she feels it’s appointment viewing.<\/p>\n

1. What are you watching and where are you accessing it (network, streaming service)?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong>:\u00a0 Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/a>\u00a0on Netflix. The series ran from 2005-2008. 16 years ago! But of course, the beauty of Netflix, is that it gave the series a whole NEW life.<\/p>\n

2. What’s the genre and is it a series, limited series, movie or other format?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong>: The genre is action, adventure, fantasy, comedy, drama and it’s an animated series.\u00a0 I (along with my husband and son) just finished the third and final season.<\/p>\n

3. How are you watching it (flat screen tv, ipad, computer, phone) and how did you hear about it (ad, word of mouth, a review, etc.)?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong>: Flat screen tv… but we watched the series finale on our big projection screen we house in the garage… I mean “studio.” Given it was our son’s turn to pick what we watch\u00a0as a family, he was the source.\u00a0 He’s a stickler for reviews and ratings and so when he read up on it, it checked all the boxes for him.<\/p>\n

4. When did you get hooked on it (the pilot? episode 3?) and what keeps you coming back to it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong>:\u00a0 The pilot definitely hooked me in… (I mean it was directed by none other than Dave Filoni of Mandalorian and Clone Wars fame, but I loved and appreciated that multiple episodes were directed by a woman: Lauren Hunter MacMullan).<\/p>\n

It’s shot and executed beautifully. Visually stunning. \u00a0I came back because it was a fascinating\u00a0world, provided rich characters, humor, and it was surprisingly emotional. I also loved the strong themes explored (such as female empowerment, gender discrimination, war and genocide).\u00a0 It definitely kept me intrigued and coming back for more.<\/p>\n

5. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being amazing) what would you rate it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong>: I might give this a ten. It’s definitely worth checking out.<\/p>\n
